We are acutely aware of the impact the construction of buildings (and their subsequent operation) have on the environment, in terms of consumption of the world’s natural resources, and the creation of substantial volumes of pollution and waste. We therefore understand the importance of our actions on the sustainability of the environment and the communities we service, not only with regards to their impact today, but on that of future generations. We are committed to building on our sustainable design and construction processes and capabilities, and to implementing innovative design concepts to improve resource efficiency and waste reduction in our work. We will continue to implement initiatives that have a positive impact and seek to influence those around us to be equally conscientious and committed.
Australex has adopted the PROCORE platform for standardising and managing document control and information management across every project. In addition to streamlining project management systems, it ensures easy access to project records years after a project’s completion.
Procore is the world’s most widely used construction project management software, connecting all parties to a project, on the one platform. Australex has invested in Procore, to manage project processes, documentation and reporting - connecting office to mobile staff, site teams and stakeholders in a simple, robust system that is easily accessible on the go. Procore enables us to work more efficiently, communicate better, and build faster from a ‘single centralised source of truth’
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the holistic process of creating and managing information for a built asset. The BIM process supports creation and management of information across the lifecycle of a project by combining all multi-disciplinary design and construction documentation into a common dataset. Since that data can be accessed in multiple representations, from 2D to 3D to tables, the information is far more accessible and connected than the disparate data sources associated with traditional CAD approaches.
Australex Group employs BIM as its preferred process and methodology for project design co-ordination, enabling teams to interface with technology to deliver better project outcomes. We conduct regular BIM workshops from the earliest stages to co-ordinate and increase the efficiency of the design process and to avoid and correct potential discrepancies and issues.
BIM coordination offers a great variety of benefits for the client’s construction project as a whole, improving coordination between all parties and stages of the project, helping with compatibility issues, excessive waste issues, and many others. There are several different benefits that 3D BIM coordination provides, including maximised utilisation of the building space, easier identification of design errors that would cost a lot of money to fix in the final project stage, and clash detection, greatly reducing the number of changes that would’ve happened in the construction process if the clashes were not detected sooner.
Thanks to BIM, multiple parties can work on a unified model that reflects changes from each and every one of them. This results in easier collaboration between engineers, architects, subcontractors, etc – improving the accuracy of the design as a whole and resolving issues before they’ve become much bigger down the track.
We employ proven best practise project management disciplines to run our projects, applying a comprehensive and systematic way of identifying, analysing and responding to risks to achieve the project objectives. We have Risk Management Certified professionals in our team, ensuring you get the best people overseeing your best interests. By identifying high and low risks up front, we can apply the appropriate mitigations at all stages of the project lifecycle, avoiding unnecessary delays, costs and wastage.
The benefits of the risk management process include improvement of construction project management processes and the effective use of available resources. Australex manages project risks in collaboration with the design and consultant team, the client and key project stakeholders to mitigate risk exposure, manage the program and control costs.
Our unique approach combines a highly tailorable level of service, underpinned by impeccably structured management systems and procedures. Our clients enjoy the best of both worlds – the flexibility, personalisation and responsiveness of an agile, boutique firm, combined with the depth and procedural expertise and structure of a larger firm.
